ISO 22301

What it is

The ISO 22301 "Societal security - Business Continuity Management Systems - Requirements" standard has been developed to help organizations of all sizes minimize the risk of interruptions.

Since the end of 2014 it has become the normative reference for the certification of a Business Continuity Management System, replacing BS 25999.

CSQA is accredited by ACCREDIA.
CSQA can issue internationally recognized certifications through IQNet, being a member of CISQ.

Key points

Compared to the previous BS25999 "Business Continuity Management" standard, the ISO/IEC 22301 standard focuses on the following aspects:

  • demand for a greater attention to the whole production chain
  • risk assessment
  • involvement of Top Management at all stages of BCM;
  • identification of the acceptable minimum operating level in case of disaster
  • better definition of the vocabulary used.

Benefits

The proper implementation of a business continuity management system allows the organization to react in a responsive and effective way to catastrophic events so as to drastically reduce the potential damage of such events.
