Effectiveness and innovation for the certification and control system

Poligrafico CSQA agreement : new solutions for the traceability of Italian agri-food products

A voluntary system to protect consumers and producers

A collaboration agreement has been signed between Poligrafico and the Italian State Mint and CSQA Certificazioni to implement a project that strengthens the traceability of Italian PDO and PGI products and offers effective communication to consumers. The agreement is part of the framework of activities for the enhancement of quality supply chains, in order to make available to sector operators and citizens the professional skills and technological solutions necessary for the protection and promotion of our country's specialties.

A response to a strong need in the agri-food sector for quality: the technologies and processes that make it possible to "tell the story of the product" in fact guarantee greater protection, control, transparency for certified productions and consumers , and increase recognition on the markets. In recent years, the Food sector has seen a rapid growth all over the world in the experimentation of new technologies - QR Code, RFID, Apps, marks, foodblockchains - which today make it possible to efficiently trace the product with an approach that involves the different methods of production, marketing, packaging, distribution and sale.

A project that can be implemented thanks to the experience of the Istituto Poligrafico and the leading role in the Italian Food sector of CSQA Certificazioni, which has been committed since the 1990s to the issues of traceability of quality agricultural and food production and is always ready to take up the challenges posed by technological innovation and global markets , as evidenced by the "Blockchain Solutions for Made in Italy" project, aimed at adding blockchain technology alongside traditional identification and traceability systems.

A path in which CSQA has availed itself of the collaboration of the Qualivita Foundation which has always been attentive to the issues of protection of quality made in Italy agri-food and innovation, in constant dialogue with the PDO PGI Protection Consortia . For the latter, the agreement between CSQA and IPZS in fact constitutes a precious opportunity to take a significant step forward in the field of traceability of Geographical Indication productions, strengthening the transparency and valorisation of products, companies and territories.

"Today an important partnership is born - underlines the President of CSQA, Carlo Perini - capable of uniting different, innovative and all-Italian skills that will develop projects aimed at making the certification and control system in the quality agri-food sector even more effective".

“The collaboration between CSQA and the Istituto Poligrafico was born with the aim of providing a voluntary service - declared Pietro Bonato , CSQA's Managing Director and General Manager - in favor of Italian quality products. The adoption of new technologies to support unambiguous identification and traceability ensures an ever more rigorous and easy availability of information and on the other hand makes it possible to valorise, place products at an ever higher level and make them immediately recognizable to the consumer”.
