The Central Inspectorate for Quality Protection and Fraud Prevention (ICQRF) of agri-food products of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry (MASAF) has authorized CSQA, by Ministerial Decree, to carry out inspections for the Protected Designation of Origin Aglio di Voghiera for the next three years.Voghiera Garlic PDO represents one of the certified excellences of Emilia-Romagna , a region that is confirmed among the first in Italy for the economic impact of PDO and PGI productions.
The regional agri-food sector can count on 74 certified products , a total economic value of almost 4 billion euros and over 15,000 operators involved in the supply chains , with an incidence of regional Geographical Indications equal to 26% of the value of the regional agri-food sector (Data from the Ismea-Qualivita 2025 Report).

Registered as a PDO in 2010, Aglio di Voghiera PDO has its roots in the agricultural tradition of the Ferrara area, where unique soil and climate conditions and consolidated production know-how contribute to defining its distinctive characteristics.
Today, the supply chain comprises 17 operators, with a certified production of 430 tons and a production value of €1 million, confirming the role of Voghiera Garlic PDO as an identity-defining, quality product of the regional agri-food system.
Leading the supply chain is the Voghiera Garlic Producers Consortium , which has been protecting and promoting this excellence since 2000. Among its main responsibilities is the promotion and enhancement of Voghiera Garlic and the protection of the Consortium's members, which currently has 24 ordinary members and one special member. Current projects, in addition to participation in various local fairs and festivals, include organizing the historic Garlic Fair, which will be held from August 7 to 9, 2026.
CSQA 's entry as the inspection body for the Aglio di Voghiera PDO is part of the Group's broader growth and consolidation strategy, strengthened by the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Check Fruit, the former product inspection body and a key player in the fruit and vegetable sector. This strategic move aims to create a center of excellence in agri-food certification, leveraging specialized skills and ensuring increasingly qualified service to supply chains.
"CSQA," stated Monia Dalla Libera, President of the Consortium , "represents for us the natural continuation of a path based on expertise, impartiality, rigor, and reliability, essential elements for a credible and effective control system. Controls are not just a formal requirement, but an essential tool for protecting the quality of Voghiera Garlic PDO, enhancing the work of producers, and, above all, strengthening consumer confidence in our product."
"Entrusting CSQA with the inspections for Aglio di Voghiera PDO represents an important recognition of our commitment to ensuring quality, transparency, and reliability throughout the agri-food supply chain ," said Maria Chiara Ferrarese, General Manager and CEO of CSQA . " This also reflects our Group's growth, which, with the acquisition of Check Fruit, further strengthens its expertise in the fruit and vegetable sector. This is a strategic move that allows us to develop synergies, leverage consolidated expertise, and offer PDO and PGI products an increasingly robust and specialized inspection system that is responsive to the needs of local communities and businesses."
The Aglio di Voghiera PDO confirms the value of the portfolio of PDO PGI products certified by CSQA, which currently includes 83 Geographical Indications : a figure that underlines the desire to increasingly support the development of quality agri-food supply chains, a symbol of Made in Italy and the vocation of the territories.
