BIORADAR, the new Database of Standards for Bioeconomy

A free tool for businesses

BIORADAR, the new Database of Standards for Bioeconomy
BIORADAR, the new Database of Standards for Bioeconomy The European BIORADAR project, of which UNI is also a partner, has recently presented its new Standardization Toolkit , a free online database that collects over 230 technical standards (UNI, EN, ISO) related to the bioeconomy.

This tool is designed to support companies, certification bodies and professionals operating in the bio-based, biodegradable and compostable materials sectors.

A structured database to facilitate access to standards

The database offers an organised overview of the standards, divided into 12 thematic areas , including:
  • Bioeconomy
  • Certification schemes
  • Circular economy strategies
  • Environmental management
  • Product production and use
  • Recycling
  • Traceability
Each standard is accompanied by a brief description of its scope, keywords, references to the competent technical committees and direct links to the official pages for purchasing the documents.

You can search by keyword, technical committee or use a manual advanced search.

UNI: a key role in the standardization of the bioeconomy

Within the BIORADAR project, UNI plays a central role in linking the project results with European and international standardisation activities.

UNI facilitates the transfer of project innovations towards standardization, promoting the creation of pre-normative documents such as CEN Workshop Agreements (CWA) and ensuring alignment with existing CEN and ISO standards.

Database access

The BIORADAR Standardization Toolkit is freely accessible HERE .

The Toolkit represents a valuable tool to simplify the search for standards related to the bioeconomy and bio-based products.
It does not provide direct access to the full texts of documents, but allows a targeted consultation within a much larger catalogue: UNI, for example, makes available over 20,000 standards in its repertoire. (Source: https://www.uni.com/ )
