On the occasion of the award ceremony, a conference focused on the success of Italian cheeses on international markets from various perspectives.
"How good is cheese with pears? The irresistible success of cheeses around the world." This was the title of the conference organized by Confcommercio Thiene in collaboration with Brazzale Spa and with the patronage of the Municipality of Thiene, held on September 26 in Thiene (Vicenza), on the occasion of the company's recognition as "ONAF City of Cheese."
The ONAF award is certainly not a "courtesy" title, but rather the recognition of an industrial and cultural reality: Thiene has always been the center of gravity for the Veneto and Tre Venezie dairy industry, the commercial hub of the agro-industrial system that extends from the prairies of the Veneto plain to the vast grazing reserve of the Asiago Plateau with its mountain pastures. A veritable district that has long been home to a major dairy machinery industry.
As evidence of this, over time the Thiene Dairy School, the CSQA , the leading certification body in the agri-food sector, the prestigious Institute for Quality and Agri-food Technologies, with its five laboratories, and, most recently, the Brazzale Science Nutrition & Food Center, created in collaboration with the University of Milan, have found their headquarters here: an ecosystem that reflects this important dairy tradition.
