New certification for Digital Trust Services launched

eIDAS 2, CSQA is the first accredited body With the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 (eIDAS 2) , the new European framework for digital identity and trust services is taking shape, intended to strengthen the security, interoperability and reliability of digital transactions in the single market.

In this context, CSQA has completed the adaptation of its eIDAS certification scheme , operating in accordance with the indications of the Accredia Technical Circular DC n. 45/2025 and the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2162 , which regulate the accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies for Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSP).

CSQA is the first Certification Body in Italy to operationally apply the new system provided for by eIDAS 2 , providing companies and organizations with a certification path aligned with the updated requirements.

The eIDAS 2 Regulation introduces a significant evolution of the European system of trust services , with particular attention to:
  • safety and risk management , in accordance with the NIS2 Directive;
  • European interoperability of digital identity and electronic trust services;
  • personal data protection and privacy by design principles;
  • reliability of identification and control processes.
In addition to the services already regulated, eIDAS 2 expands the scope of qualified trust services, including , among others:
  • management of qualified remote electronic signature and sealing devices (remote signature);
  • qualified electronic archiving services;
  • qualified electronic certificates of attributes;
  • qualified electronic registers.
The new CSQA eIDAS certification scheme has been designed to fully incorporate the applicable regulatory requirements and ETSI standards, adopting an evaluation model that integrates technological, organizational and governance aspects.

The Scheme allows:
  • the application of a flexible scope , to include the various qualified trust services provided for by the legislation;
  • an approach oriented not only towards formal compliance, but also towards the effectiveness of controls;
  • a structured management of the transitional period, scheduled until May 17, 2027, to support the QTSPs in the adaptation process.
