Let's save water ”: this is the eloquent title chosen for the evening scheduled for Wednesday 7 May from 8.30 pm at the Rustico Pettinà in Schio, with the participation of Lorenzo Altissimo, former director of the Novoledo Water Centre, to talk about the water footprint and sustainable use of water, as well as presenting the Life Svolta Blu project.

An idea born, among others, from the sensitivity of four "enthusiasts" involved at multiple levels - Paolo Gurisatti, Renato Grotto, Giustino Mezzalira and Lorenzo Altissimo - who on several occasions, in recent times, had highlighted some serious critical issues regarding the water resource with a water footprint, that of Veneto, well beyond the European average. Hence the need to provide actions to restore the balance of hydrological systems in order to guarantee sustainable use in the medium and long term . A project that aims to activate a system of exchange of "water or blue credits", an innovative local market able to reward those who reduce their water consumption or invest in protection solutions, offering them the possibility of generating and exchanging credits with those who, instead, need to compensate for their impact.

After a process lasting about a year and a half, which involved Fondazione Palazzo Festari-IPA Alto Vicentino , ANBI Veneto , Consorzio di Bonifica Alta Pianura Veneta , University of Padua with the ICEA (Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering) and TESAF (Territory and Agro-Forestry Systems) Departments, CSQA and of course ViAcqua as leader, the Project was sent to the European Commission in September 2023 to be accepted in June 2024.
