Trust plays a strategic role in the context of digital transformation , representing an enabling factor for truly impactful change. And, from this perspective, it is an element closely interconnected with sustainability , capable of generating value for everyone: from organizations to citizens.

We discussed this in this interview with Danilo Cattaneo, CEO of Tinexta Infocert , on the occasion of the company's entry into the Foundation for Digital Sustainability network—a partner in the digital transformation of businesses and institutions. With a degree in Computer Science (cum laude), an Executive MBA from the University of Edinburgh, and an MBA from the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, Danilo Cattaneo has built his career on significant professional experience in roles of increasing responsibility at international companies, from Oracle Corporation to Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He is currently CEO and General Manager of Tinexta Infocert , as well as Vice President of Assintel .

" Sustainability and digital are no longer two parallel trajectories, but a single path towards the future. Today, we cannot imagine a truly sustainable society without a secure, inclusive, and reliable digital ecosystem ," explained Danilo Cattaneo. " At Tinexta Infocert, we take on this very responsibility: to be an enabler of a sustainable digital future, founded on trust ."

For Tinexta Infocert, therefore, digital sustainability means driving a technological transformation that is not only innovative, but also secure, responsible, and capable of generating value over time. And this means committing to considering the impacts that digital transformation can have on each area of sustainability. “ On an environmental level , the digitalization of processes represents an immediate lever for reducing impact, but we have chosen to go beyond this approach, starting a structured process of objectively measuring the environmental impacts of our digital solutions , also including the energy consumption of servers and data centers. The goal is to provide customers with transparent, verified and measurable data on the real environmental benefit generated. Some examples make this vision concrete. Our Trust Onboarding Platform (TOP), which allows remote identification, for example for opening online current accounts, was the subject of an LCA study conducted by SpinLife (University of Padua) and verified by CSQA : the analysis, according to ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, highlighted a reduction of up to 86% of CO2 emissions compared to traditional in-person processes . Furthermore, on the front of digital approval processes, the GoSign solution enabled the signing of 1.7 billion documents in 2024 alone, avoiding 224 million kg of CO2 , the consumption of approximately 63,000 trees and the equivalent of 9 billion glasses of water. Each digital signature thus generates a measured and traceable environmental impact . To raise awareness of these issues, we launched the Sustainability Awards in 2025, rewarding customers who have contributed most, through the adoption of our solutions, to reducing their environmental impact .
