A strategic milestone for the CAA system
The internationally recognized ISO/IEC 27001 standard defines the requirements for implementing an information security management system, focusing on:- Cyber risk management and sensitive data protection
- Continuity and resilience of business processes
- Regulatory compliance and credibility towards stakeholders
A concrete response to the national regulatory framework
Legislative Decree no. 74/2018, Article 6, establishes the guarantee and operational requirements that Authorized Agricultural Assistance Centers (CAA) must meet and expressly states that the CAA guarantees information security through ISO 27001 certification.Even though the CAAs are private entities, they contribute to the protection of the general interest by helping to guarantee transparency, regularity and legality in the management of financial aid to agriculture, managed through the SIAN and the information systems of the paying agencies.
CSQA , an internationally accredited certification body, supported the CAAs with a structured program that included gap analysis, specific training on safety and compliance, pre-audit verification and certification audit according to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard.
This process supported CAAs in creating a strong organizational information security culture by adopting a systemic and risk management-oriented approach.
With this achievement, Confagricoltura positions itself as a point of reference for the secure digitalization of the agricultural sector, concretely responding to the challenges of digital transition, responsible data management, and regulatory compliance.
