Vicenza Dairies: Asiago DOP is certified Made Green in Italy in Class A.

Latterie Vicentine is the main producer of the Asiago Cheese Protection Consortium to achieve the highest level of the environmental scheme promoted by the Ministry, confirming its commitment to the supply chain.

Latterie Vicentine is among the first Italian companies to receive the prestigious "Made Green in Italy" certification for its Fresh Asiago DOP and Mature Asiago DOP. Both cheeses have achieved Class A classification, the highest level allowed by the voluntary scheme promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security to promote products with a low environmental impact .

Latterie Vicentine, the main producer of the Asiago Cheese Protection Consortium , has reached this important milestone , confirming its concrete commitment to environmental sustainability .

The Made Green in Italy label certifies products made in Italy that comply with specific sustainability criteria throughout the entire production process , from the use of ecological and recyclable materials to transformation processes, from eco-friendly packaging to corporate social responsibility.

The certification was issued by the independent body CSQA based on an in-depth life cycle assessment (LCA) conducted using SSDA software, in accordance with the Product Category Rules (RCP) approved by the Ministry. The assessment analyzed the entire supply chain: from milk production to processing in the dairy, from maturation to distribution, up to the use and disposal of packaging.

The Class A recognition certifies that the environmental impact of Asiago DOP Fresco and Asiago DOP Stagionato produced by Latterie Vicentine is significantly lower than the industry average, confirming the company's commitment to excellence and continuous improvement of environmental performance.

The Made Green in Italy label for our Asiago DOP cheese offers consumers the guarantee of enjoying a product of the highest quality, also from an ethical and environmental standpoint ,” says Alessandro Mocellin, president of Latterie Vicentine. “ Buying our Asiago means supporting a production chain that uses fewer resources, generates fewer emissions, and manages waste and packaging more responsibly and sustainably. Each wheel embodies our concrete commitment to protecting the land where we and our 200 members live and work.”

The 'Made Green in Italy' certification is part of a far-reaching project that will see significant acceleration: starting in January 2026, the new Bressanvido production hub will begin operations, destined to become one of the main production centers for PDO cheeses in Italy, with a production capacity of 140,000 wheels of Grana Padano and tripled space for packaging Asiago PDO and other Veneto excellences.

The investment in sustainability is significant: a 1 MWp photovoltaic system will increase self-generation of energy from 11% to 25%, while the upgrade of the company's purification plant will allow for emissions reductions of up to 60%.
