Version 17 of the LEAF Marque Standard has been officially published, and will become mandatory for all audits carried out from 5 May 2026 .LEAF Marque is an environmental assurance system that identifies products grown according to sustainable principles.
The presence of the LEAF Marque logo on a product ensures that it comes from farms committed to adopting responsible and environmentally friendly practices.
LEAF's mission is to promote and foster more circular agricultural approaches, through solutions aimed at:
- Supporting the environmental and economic resilience of farmers.
- Enhance and integrate the local communities in which companies operate.
- Minimize environmental impacts.
- Promote the creation of diverse habitats and improve biodiversity.
- Manage water efficiently.
- Improve soil conservation and restoration practices.
- Implement effective integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to minimize direct interventions.
- Support the responsible sourcing, monitoring and use of resources, reducing waste.
- Improve energy efficiency by promoting the use of renewable energy and the adoption of strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Apply regenerative practices to mitigate the negative impacts of agriculture, promote carbon sequestration, and improve soil and ecosystem health.
LEAF Marque certification requires, as a prerequisite , that the company or producer group hold a certification relating to good agricultural practices . Among these, the most recognized remains GLOBALG.AP IFA.
