CAFC SpA has signed a new agreement with the Municipality of Ovaro for the purchase of sustainability credits generated by forest management certified according to the PEFC Ecosystem Services standard. The agreement provides for the transfer to CAFC of 668.5391 tons of CO₂ equivalent , corresponding to the carbon stored and certified by the Municipality.
This is the second direct agreement with a mountain municipality as part of the company's decarbonization strategy, following the one signed with the Municipality of Rigolato.
An agreement that enhances the territory and supports sustainable forest management
In 2024, the Municipality of Ovaro obtained the PEFC Ecosystem Services Certification (certificate no. 82568-01 issued by CSQA), which attests to the capacity of the municipal forestry heritage to absorb and store CO₂. Sustainable forest management generated a value equal to 668.5391 tons of CO₂ , converted into credits tradable on the voluntary market until July 2029 , the certification's expiration date.
