Christmas is not just panettone and pandoro. Ricciarelli di Siena PGI and Panforte di Siena PGI are representative products of the festivals of the rich basket of protected products of Tuscany.
Born from the ancient tradition of Sienese confectionery art, the two typical desserts can now count on a total certified production of 327 tons , capable of generating over 4.3 million euros in production value.
“It is important to remember - underlines Pietro Bonato , general director and CEO of CSQA , the control body of the two protected products - that in 2010 the Ricciarelli di Siena were recognized as the first Italian baked confectionery product worthy of the Protected Geographical Indication” .
