Società Agricola Forbici Ss – Vivaio “Piante-forestali” based in Desenzano del Garda (BS) has been awarded the first certification according to the Native Plant/Biodiversity standard, the brand conceived and developed by Veneto Agricoltura to promote the use of native plants and seeds of local origin.

The certification, issued by CSQA , concerns plant cultivation and is the first concrete result of the standard's implementation. This step marks the operational launch of a system designed to offer verifiable guarantees regarding the origin of plant material and its traceability throughout the various stages of the nursery supply chain.

The Native Plant/Biodiversity Label was created to promote the use of plants and seeds within the same "region of origin" in which the original material was collected. The underlying principle of the standard is that the use of native and locally sourced plant material contributes to preserving the genetic richness of species, their ability to adapt to the natural environment, and, more generally, the biodiversity of local areas.

Veneto Agricoltura, the regional agency for innovation in the primary sector, is the owner of the trademark , the regulations for use and the related technical specifications .
