Integrated Production today represents one of the main reference models for sustainable agriculture, capable of combining production quality, environmental protection, food safety, and business competitiveness. In this context, the UNI 11233 standard and the National Integrated Production Quality System (SQNPI) constitute two fundamental tools for structuring and certifying this approach.
UNI 11233
UNI 11233 is a national technical standard that defines the requirements for the application of integrated production in agricultural companies and along the agri-food supply chain. The standard provides a clear and verifiable framework for the adoption of practices aimed at:
- rational management of production inputs
- reduction of environmental impact
- protection of natural resources
- product quality and safety
- process traceability
SQNPI
At Community level, various types of Quality Systems have been established to recognize and identify quality products through Community and national brands/logos, which provide for control and certification by specifically authorized third-party and independent bodies (CBs).At national level, the National Quality System for Integrated Production ( SQNPI ), the National Quality System for Zootechnics ( SQNZ ) and the National Quality System for Animal Welfare ( SQNBA ) have been recognised to date.

The SQNPI certification allows companies to use the official brand , guaranteeing:
- transparency towards the market and consumers
- recognisability of the practices adopted
- consistency with sustainability objectives at national and European level
The role of CSQA in UNI 11233 and SQNPI certification
For a certification to be effective and credible, it is essential that it is issued by an independent and accredited body.CSQA is a body accredited by Accredia for UNI 11233 certification and authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry for SQNPI certification .
It therefore acts as a competent and impartial third party in verifying compliance with the requirements set by the standards.
Thanks to its consolidated experience in the agri-food sector, CSQA supports agricultural companies and supply chains in the certification process, guaranteeing technical expertise and reliability of the certification process.
Certification as a strategic lever
For companies, being certified according to UNI 11233 and SQNPI means:- demonstrate a concrete commitment to sustainability
- improve the organization and control of production processes
- respond to market and distribution demands
- strengthen corporate reputation
