The Self-Control Veterinarian and the Evaluator Veterinarian . The first is encouraged by official control in his role as a global consultant to the breeder, the second is essential for the certification bodies in his evaluation function. They are the protagonists of primary production and of the National Seminar organized by SivarSib on the subject.

The Seminar “The Veterinarian in self-control” organized by SivarSib in collaboration with ANMVI at Palazzo Trecchi was opened and moderated by President Vito Loconte: “ With this day - said the President of SivarSib - we want to take stock of the situation for the benefit of the veterinarian who works on farms, in self-control and who represents the first engine of the supply chain. Sivar Sib and Anmvi - he added - also consider dialogue with agricultural organizations to be fundamental and we are keeping it open”.

The certification process and in particular the evaluation phase by the Evaluating Veterinarian was presented by Francesca Ceola and Marco Gasparotto of CSQA . While waiting for the Control Plan, the Evaluator's activities can, in part, already be deduced from the Disciplinaries themselves. When the freelance Veterinarian takes on the role of Evaluator, he/she will have to act according to the obligations of independence and confidentiality, guaranteeing objective and repeatable evaluation actions, during five phases that go from the first interview with the breeder of the establishment to be evaluated to the final interview, passing through phases of verification of the establishment and verbalization of what was observed. The Evaluating Veterinarian will not issue any judgment of suitability for certification, a final act that is the sole responsibility of the Certification Body.
