PDO PGI: 25 million for the sustainable development of Italian quality supply chains

PDO PGI: 25 million for the sustainable development of Italian quality supply chains The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty presented the "Promotion Ministerial Decree" which assigns resources equal to 25 million euros to the PDO PGI supply chains for national and international promotion and sustainability measures.

The measure has among its main objectives :

  • support and increase the marketing of PDO PGI products,

  • develop information and dissemination actions on the origin and distinctive characteristics of the products,

  • support actions for their development ,

  • increase the representativeness of the protection consortia

  • apply research findings to implement sustainability measures in supply chains.

Individual protection consortia or temporary associations between multiple consortia, recognized by MASAF, which will submit an application by May 15th , will be able to benefit from the resources.
