The growth in Grana Padano PDO production continues : in February 2026, with 532,610 wheels processed , the increase was +4.23% compared to the same month in 2025. In the same month last year, 510,977 wheels were processed. In 2024, production had reached 511,851 wheels and, therefore, in two years the recorded increase is over 20 thousand wheels (+6.76%).

The data for the two-month period January-February 2026 recorded an overall increase of +4.99%, reaching 1,100,201 wheels, compared to the 1,047,920 wheels processed in the same period in 2025. In 2024, it stopped at 1,030,511.

As for the provinces, only two went against the trend in February: in Brescia, 130,431 forms were produced, compared to 130,742 in the previous year, and in Vicenza, in fact, 31,843 forms were produced, against 32,921 in 2025. The monthly increase, therefore, was distributed across the other ten provinces , with 11,907 in Bergamo, 4,663 in Cuneo, 81,640 in Cremona, 10,026 in Lodi, 161,974 in Mantua, 63,177 in Piacenza, 12,600 in Padua, 1,624 in Rovigo, 13,096 in Trento and 9,629 in Verona.

In the two-month period from January to February, only the province of Vicenza recorded a decrease, with 59,528 wheels produced, a decrease compared to the same period in 2025, when 67,910 wheels were produced (23,193 to 24,562), Lodi from 20,051 to 20,718, Verona from 19,204 to 19,933, Cuneo from 7,480 to 9,834 and Rovigo from 3,147 to 3,364.

Production in December 2025 saw 567,865 wheels processed , a quantity up 7.85% compared to the last month of 2024. The final production for 2025 thus exceeded a historic threshold, rising to 6,053,690 wheels of Grana Padano , with an increase of 7.43% in wheels and 7.72% in weight compared to 2024. Going into detail, in December 2024 526,543 wheels had been produced and in December 2023 production had reached 505,908 wheels. Total production in 2024 had reached 5,635,153 wheels, exceeding the quantity recorded in 2023 by 5,456,500.

In 2025, the positive trend was uniform across all twelve provinces where production is concentrated . In December, Bergamo reached 12,286 wheels, Brescia 144,400, Cuneo 5,003, Cremona 84,908, Lodi 10,590, Mantua 178,430, Piacenza 69,134, Padua 13,158, Rovigo 1,672, Trento 12,301, Vicenza 25,861, and Verona 10,122. Compared to 2024, overall production increased by 418,537 wheels, with a trend widespread across all provinces. Mantua remains the queen , rising to 1,820,440 wheels. Brescia follows with 1,521,237 , Cremona with 958,607 , Piacenza with 691,725 , Vicenza with 368,419 , Padua with 141,041, Trento with 137,785, Bergamo with 129,099, Verona with 110,538, Lodi with 104,311, Cuneo with 51,859 and Rovigo with 18,629.

It should be noted that the 2025 regional distribution will be calculated only once the CSQA has obtained the cheeses produced outside Veneto with Veneto milk and the cheeses produced in Veneto with milk from outside Veneto. However, the podium positions held by Mantua, Brescia, and Verona, which with these figures account for over 70% of production, appear unchallenged.
