Yesterday afternoon, 26 September 2022, the institutional meeting between CSQA and the ministerial delegation of Indonesia was held within the international project Arise+, a European trade support program at the heart of the EU-Indonesia cooperation framework.

The objective of the Indonesian Study Mission - attended by a delegation of officials from key ministries - is to gain an in-depth knowledge of the Italian model of agri-food PDO PGI which is considered an important point of reference for the economic and social development of the country.

CSQA - leader in Italian PDO PGI certification with 71 controlled agri-food products (51% of the total value of the sector) - has the institutional task of making Indonesian managers aware of the procedures of the control systems of Geographical Indications and in particular on the verification and testing activities to guarantee the quality and authenticity of the products.

In support of this training activity there is also a guided testing of selected Italian products, carried out by Veneto Agricoltura , for a direct experience of the importance of making quality, protecting consumers and authentic productions, in compliance with the requirements of the production specification such as origin, physical characteristics, production methods, environmental factors and marketing phases.

With this initiative” underlines Pietro Bonato, Director General and CEO of CSQA – “Italy is confirmed as an international point of reference for the certification of PDO PGI products. The experiences gained in over 30 years by CSQA in this area represent an important educational heritage, as demonstrated by the visit of the Indonesian government delegation. Fostering the exchange of knowledge strengthens the development of a model such as that of Geographical Indications which has by now become an important economic asset for our country".

“We are happy and proud of the results obtained and of the collaboration built between the Indonesian government and CSQA to enhance and protect our quality agri-food products – declared Mr. Kurniaman Telaumbanua , Directorate General of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. This international cooperation initiative was particularly profitable because it allowed us to get to know the world of high-level certification and to understand the key factors of the development model of European PDO PGIs".
