From the Uffizi's museum therapies to the perspectives offered by augmented reality, including the certification process for forest therapies launched in the Acquerino-Cantagallo Reserve. The Municipality of Cantagallo's experience was among the highlights of the international workshop dedicated to art, nature, and health at the Annual Conference of the European Association for Psychosomatic Medicine (EAPM), one of the leading European events dedicated to research on the relationship between well-being, the environment, and health.
During the meeting, Health Councilor Dimitri Becheri outlined the City's process for Biodiversity Friend Forest – Therapy module certification in the Acquerino-Cantagallo Reserve, a project that aims to enhance the environmental quality and biodiversity of the forest as key elements for the development of forest therapies. The workshop brought together experiences and expertise from diverse fields, united by the goal of exploring new avenues for promoting health and well-being. Silvia Barlacchi, an official from the Cultural Mediation and Accessibility Department of the Uffizi Galleries, presented the museum therapy projects and garden therapy activities developed in the Boboli Gardens, highlighting the role of beauty, art, and cultural heritage as tools to support people's health.
The certification process initiated in the Acquerino-Cantagallo Reserve, promoted by the Municipality together with the World Biodiversity Association, TeFFIt, and CSQA, continues with the goal of making the protected area a regional and national reference point for the development of projects that integrate environmental protection, scientific research, prevention, and quality of life.
