The first "Health, Environment, Biodiversity and Climate" Program is born
The first "Health, Environment, Biodiversity and Climate" Program is born The three-year Programme “Health, Environment, Biodiversity and Climate” has been formally adopted, a strategic document that strengthens the integration between health and environmental policies and consolidates the One Health approach to the prevention of environmental and climate risks to health .

The Program is the result of the joint work of the Control Room established by the Prime Ministerial Decree of 29 March 2023 and was discussed with institutional interlocutors during the First National Conference of the National System for Health Prevention from Environmental and Climate Risks (SNPS).

In its final version, the document was endorsed by the Council of the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA) , reviewed by the Interregional Prevention Coordination and formally adopted by the Control Room on 31 October 2025.

The three-year program defines a multilevel strategy aimed at strengthening the country's capacity to prevent and manage the health impacts associated with environmental and climate factors, promoting integrated governance between the National Health Service, regional prevention systems, and the National Environmental Protection System.

  • Strengthening the governance of the SNPS and the Regional Systems (SRPS)
  • Greater integration between healthcare and the environment and between SNPS and SNPA
  • Developing interoperability of health and environmental information systems
  • Strengthening specialist and intersectoral training
  • Consistency between LEA and LEPTA
