This is the aim of the brochure “Corporate Sustainability – Technical standards and accredited certifications for reliable reporting” , produced by Accredia and UNI .
The document is intended as a compass for companies that need and/or want to orient themselves among technical standards and accredited certifications to satisfy the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) sustainability reporting principles , adopted by the Commission, on the proposal of the EFRAG (European Financial Reporting Advisory Group), within the framework of the CSRD Directive.
The theme of sustainability, in fact, has been at the center of European policies for several years now: from the Green New Deal of 2019 to the recent Clean Industrial Deal of February 2025, Europe aims to promote the ecological transition and guarantee the competitiveness of the production system.
A complex scenario, in which the EU Directive 2022/2464 (CSRD) on corporate sustainability reporting, implemented in Italy by Legislative Decree 125 of 2024 , also applies.
This regulation introduced new obligations for companies, requiring greater transparency on corporate ESG practices.
The Accredia and UNI brochure therefore provides clear and concrete support for preparing the sustainability report, both in the voluntary and mandatory context, in light of a constantly evolving regulatory framework, which is also linked to the recent revision of the CSRD legislation proposed by the European Commission with the Omnibus Package , currently under discussion in the EU Parliament.
To this end, the document provides a detailed list of UNI, UNI EN, UNI EN ISO and UNI ISO standards, which help companies interpret and apply the European ESRS standards currently in force in the field of sustainability.
Technical standards, in fact, represent a recognized voluntary reference for companies that want to improve the reliability of information provided to the market and demonstrate a posture attentive to sustainability issues.
In cases where conformity assessment is required, the role of accredited certifications is specifically indicated, which guarantee a high level of reliability and transparency of the data declared by companies, strengthening the trust of stakeholders and consumers, as well as the corporate image and reputation.
The organization that obtains certification in compliance with a technical standard, in fact, has an additional tool to demonstrate its compliance with sustainability , since it has been assessed by a competent and impartial body, accredited by Accredia.
The brochure is aimed at all organizations, regardless of sector and size, interested in structuring a credible and compliant path towards sustainability, both in a voluntary and regulated perspective. (Source: https://www.accredia.it/ )
