This allergen management document provides guidance to suppliers on how to reduce health risks, mitigate cross-contamination, and ensure accurate product declarations.

In the IFS Food Standard, allergen issues are addressed in several requirements, the most important of which is requirement 4.19, which includes:
  • Risk assessment : identification and assessment of allergenic risks.
  • Preventing cross-contamination – implementing effective mitigation measures.
  • Product Declaration : Ensures accurate and compliant labeling.
This white paper summarizes publicly available references , contextualizes them within the IFS requirements, and provides direct links to resources in multiple languages (English, French, Spanish, and Polish) to assist suppliers in preparing for IFS Food audits.
