The digitalization of agricultural sustainability is finding new practical applications in the scientific monitoring of biodiversity . Technological innovation is being implemented through solutions that enable measurement to improve the interaction between production activities and the natural environment.

The Campi Protetti supply chain represents a concrete model of circular economy applied to agriculture: since 2016, it has tracked every production stage in Bologna, Modena, and Ferrara , guaranteeing the complete wholesomeness of the grains through rigorous specifications. The international CSQA certification validates an approach that integrates human well-being and environmental sustainability.

The carbon footprint has been monitored for seven consecutive years , generating scientific data that guides production decisions toward reducing impacts. This approach highlights how environmental transparency can become a competitive factor in the agri-food sector.

The new partnership with 3Bee introduces a digital biodiversity monitoring system using IoT bioacoustic sensors and artificial intelligence . The technology classifies and counts the presence of pollinators , generating a quantifiable biodiversity index through a dedicated digital platform.

"The collaboration with 3Bee stems from our interest in evaluating the interactions between farmers' activities and the biodiversity of the surrounding areas, with the aim of improving it once measured. As we did with the Carbon Footprint analysis, we want to 'measure to control' the impacts of the Campi Protetti Pivetti supply chain in all activities that involve interactions with the environment," explains Alessandro Zucchi , agronomist and supply chain project manager at Molini Pivetti.
